Kent-Ionia Labor’s food truck program

KICLC 2017 Food Truck Schedule, March-June

The Kent-Ionia Labor community sponsors a Feeding America food truck around Grand Rapids most months of the year. Through the generous donations of working men and women, we are able to provide over 50,000 pounds of produce and baked goods annually to households in Grand Rapids that need a helping hand.

If you need help, our trucks are held on the third Thursday of every month (except January & February). We start distributing at 4pm. No proof of income or ID required. We simply request you bring your own bags or boxes to carry the items. You can click the flyer on the right to download and print a flyer for dates and locations.

If you would like help, there are a couple ways you can support the food truck program:

  • Volunteer approximately two hours a month to help set up the food truck and distribute food. We meet at the food truck location between 3pm and 3:30pm for set-up, and we’re usually done by 5pm
  • If you can’t make it to volunteer, you can make a tax-deductible donation to the Labor Heritage Society of West Michigan.  A $5 donation will help purchase 50 pounds of fresh produce. A $10 donation will provide 100 pounds. A $100 donation will cover the cost of 1,000 pounds of food. And $500 will cover the cost of an entire truck. All donations are tax-deductible.

Our current schedule is:

March 16- New Life Church of God in Christ, 1072 Jefferson SE in Grand Rapids

April 20- Plymouth UCC, 4010 Kalamazoo Ave SE in Grand Rapids

May 18- First CRC, 650 Bates St SE in Grand Rapids

June 15- City Life Church, 574 Division S in Grand Rapids
