Growing and strengthening west Michigan's middle class
GRAND RAPIDS February 27, 2017– The February meeting of the Kent-Ionia Labor Council Women’s Caucus will be Tuesday, February 28, 5:30pm at the Kent-Ionia Labor Center.
This month will feature Heather Darling as she talks about her experience at the Women’s March in DC, which took place the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration last month.
Heather, a member of Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids, has said that while the Women’s March was her first protest, it hasn’t been her last as she continues to participate in the 10 actions in 100 days. Fountain Street Church, which sent 5 full tour buses to DC for the march, continues to serve as a facilitator for those interested in resisting the Trump administration.Heather is a graduate of Spring Arbor University and works for Apple Inc.
A discussion on continued actions and events will follow Heather’s presentation. There will also be an opportunity for Women’s Caucus attendees to write postcards and send them to legislators at tomorrow’s meeting.
Any women interested in participating in the west Michigan labor movement are invited to attend. For more information on the Kent-Ionia Labor Council’s Women’s Caucus, click here.
