DEARBORN January 12, 2016– The University of Michigan-Dearborn Center for Labor and Community Studies (CLCS) is pleased to announce that the 29th Annual Black Men in Unions Conference will be held February 18-21, 2016 at the University of Michigan Fairlane Center North in Dearborn.
Workshops include: Advanced Leadership, Male-Female Relationships, Parliamentary Procedure, African-Americans in Labor History, and Grievance Handling

REGISTRATION COST is $435.00. Registration and payment should reach us by January 29, 2016. Tuition Assistance programs cover tuition portion, but not meals. If using Tuition Assistance, apply for $375 tuition; you or your workplace must include the $60 meal payment with your registration. Meal payment is mandatory for all registrants. Evening meals are on your own.
TIME AND DATES Check-in is Thursday, February 18, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the University of Michigan-Dearborn Fairlane Center North. The program starts promptly at 7 pm Thursday. The conference ends about noon on Sunday, February 21.
PLACE The Institute is held at the UM’s Fairlane Center, North Building, at 19000 Hubbard Road, Dearborn, 48126. A letter of confirmation and a tentative agenda will be sent upon receipt of your registration form and payment.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS Rooms may be reserved at the Royal Dearborn Hotel for $99.00 per night + tax. You must confirm and pay for your own reservations. Call 313-592-3622 and mention Black Men in Unions to ensure the group rate. Cut-off date for hotel room reservations is Friday, February 5, 2016. After that, reservations will be accepted based on room availability; the special rate may not apply.
CANCELLATION/REFUND Last date to withdraw for refund is Friday, February 5. Please note: to be valid, registrants must call CLCS (313-583-6400) and speak to Center staff. Registrants who fail to attend or do not cancel by the deadline owe full payment.
